Bulldogs getting back to game week
Mississippi State is finally back to some sense of normalcy following a bye week that was anything but.
The Bulldogs endured the loss of one of their own when sophomore defensive end Nick Bell tragically lost his battle with cancer and died Tuesday afternoon. Now MSU is trying to pick up the pieces and return to football and their game week preparations for Alabama.
"Our team went through a really tough week and I think getting back into a game routine will help our guys push forward and move forward," said MSU head coach Dan Mullen. "Obviously you never put anything behind you when you deal with the situation that we had to deal with but what you do is you go back and live your life and hopefully have great memories of the people that you've lost. Hopefully they've left you with a message that you can use in a positive manner for your life.
"We'll get them back on a normal schedule for themselves. We had a great memorial for Nick on campus and a lot of our players went over for the funeral and I think they were able to make their piece with the situation a little bit and come into better grips with everything. They know they have to move forward in their lives and that's what we'll focus on."
