Sources have confirmed that Laurinburg, N.C., Scotland County kicker Jay Wooten commited to North Carolina earlier today.

He accepted that tender given a week ago and became a Tar Heel. The 6-3, 180-pounder's commit continues a growing trend of players out of his high school that go to UNC.

Scotland County has been a known pipeline for UNC. Three current Tar Heels — Cameron Sexton, Jacoby Watkins and Hilee Taylor — hail from there and Wooten's teammate, Travian Robertson, ranks near the top of North Carolina's wish list for the 2007 class.
