Five burning questions heading into Spring Ball

BeaverBlitz.com 1. Is Sean Canfield ready to step up and lead the Beaver offense?
If recent history is any indication, Canfield should meet that challenge. That's because this will be his third spring under Riley. So he has had plenty of time to master Coach Riley's complex offensive scheme. He also hasn't had to learn it on the fly like Derek Anderson and Matt Moore did, which is nice because we have seen that it takes awhile to grasp the system. So perhaps, the biggest thing for Canfield is how well he emerges as a leader on and off the field.
2. Who will fill the spots on the offensive line vacated by the graduated Adam Koets and Josh Linehan?
The line's improved play throughout last season played a major role in OSU's turnaround. And a lot of that was due to the incredible chemistry between the linemen. So it's important for the unit to develop that same kind of cohesiveness this season. And it all starts this spring. Is this the year Tavita Thompson lives up to his potential at tackle? There's a lot of young, impressive talent at this position, so it should be interesting to watch the battles for the open guard and tackle spots. The main thing, however, will be that the unit bonds again.
