"He had a quiet way about him. He had a walk and talk that just wasn't normal around here. He strolled like a man in the park without a care or a worry in the world. Like he had on an invisible coat on that would shield him from this place."

That is a line from the movie Shawshank Redemption when Red (Morgan Freeman) was talking about the new guy Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins).

Sometimes you see movie characters in real life.

I saw Andy yesterday in the form of Limas Sweed. He walked around Belmont Hall with his hand wrapped, but like he didn't have a care in the world. When he took his seat in front of the broadcast media, he had a smile on his face big as the state of Texas.

To Limas' credit, with all of the rumors floating around about his wrist, ranging from a sprain to a torn scapholunate ligament, he has faced the music and when he took his seat in front of the media, he answered every question posed to him.

For the life of me, I can't seem to get my hands around what was said and the way in which it was said. Maybe he was tired of answering these questions. Maybe he truly does not know what the fuss is about. Maybe, just maybe, the rumors, sources and back channel contacts are flat out wrong.

Sweed saw through the probing questions and concentrated on the Texas Longhorns taking the field on Saturday saying, "I'm just so joyful and ready for September 1st."

When pushed to talk about the injury to his wrist he chimed, "It's a blessing in disguise. (It) gave me a little time to focus on catching with one hand. If you can catch with one, you sure can catch it with two."

When he was asked if he was ready to go he said, "I feel fine right now. Like I said, everything I could do before this little incident I can do now, if not better. I feel extremely great and can't wait until September 1st."

As easy as he walked in, he turn and walked out with his flip flops making noise the whole way. The room, this situation and these questions couldn't get to him.

Who knows what is going to happen when the Longhorns take the field against Arkansas State on Saturday? Limas might play and he might play well. He may lay low and heal to play another day.

I do know that Limas exists on a level that most of us try to get to and once we do, we strive to stay there. It's a place called inner-peace. Limas knows what's going on and everybody else is guessing, which seems to be the way he likes it.

I'm done guessing.

Limas, just go out, have some fun, catch a few balls and find the end zone.
