Stansbury taking it one win at a time
Rick Stansbury could not have asked for a better start to conference play.
Mississippi State went on the road Saturday and knocked off a hot Arkansas team in an arena they traditionally have struggled in.
"Anytime you can go on the road and win in this league is special, I don't care how you go play," Stansbury said. "Particularly in that envoirnment the way that Arkansas had been playing, probably in the last 5-7 years that building was as full as it's even been. To go in there and win in that environment against a really good team naturally is going to give you some confidence."
But to improve to 2-0 in the Southeastern Conference the Bulldogs will have to put the 14-point win behind them and concentrate on their home opener against Alabama on Wednesday.
"I think our challenge will be, as always in this league, there are 16 games and you have to take them one at a time," Stansbury said. "We've got to put Arkansas behind us and play a very good, talented, big Alabama team. I think Mark's got them playing awful well right now. They have won seven out of their last nine games and when we play it's always a challenge. I think that will be out test."
Stansbury is particularly concerned about the Crimson Tide's size inside. Alabama's post players average 232.7-pounds.
