Aldrich excited about trip home
Cole Aldrich is headed home. For the first time since making his way to Lawrence, the 6-foot-11, 245-pound center from Bloomington, Minn., will get the opportunity to play in-front of his hometown fans. No. 3 seed Kansas will begin its title defense against No. 14 seed North Dakota State on Friday at 11:30 AM CST. Playing inside the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, which is located in Minneapolis, Minn., is a homecoming for Aldrich, the former Jefferson High School star.
Aldrich, who averaged 14.6-points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game during the season, is looking forward to going back to the place where it all started many years ago. However, the trip to Minneapolis, Minn., isn't so much about him, but more about KU taking the first step forward in defending its National Championship.
