Notice it ends Fee-for-Service. That's huge. Overall a really interesting proposal.

I find it very hard to believe that if all Americans switched from Medicare to the program for Federal Employees, it would save money. Most government employee programs cost more than private ones and I doubt if I switched from Medicare to the Government plan, it would save a dime, in fact, I bet it would cost more.

What they really want to do of course, is eliminate Medicare entirely, and let Seniors buy private insurance.

I think your right on both counts, but if you give the Republicans premium support (which is a big trade off) to end fee for service and get some other consumer protection provisions and progressive structure to the way it is operated, I could buy it. The problem would likely be, that 75% premium support level probably leaves low income seniors with higher costs that they can bare. Democracts shouldn't be against marshaling market forces, but you have to be careful about the fine print.
