Big Money Breakdown


Arkansas Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Jeff Long has indicated the Razorbacks will pursue a big name for the head coaching vacancy at Arkansas.


A big name will also come with a big price tag, but Long has also indicated that if Arkansas can get the right man for the job they are willing to pay for him. That does not mean Arkansas will land a coach worthy of a $4 million a year salary, but Arkansas fans have to like that Long is shooting for the stars.


The top five paid coaches in college football last year were Texas' Mack Brown, $5.2 million, Alabama's Nick Saban, $4.8 million, Oklahoma'sBob Stoops, $4.1 million, LSU's Les Miles, $3.8 million and Iowa's Kirk Ferentz, $3.8 million. Former Razorback head coach Bobby Petrino was sixth on the list at $3.6 million.
