Sowell a regular at spring practice

One Ole Miss commitment has made Oxford a regular visiting spot this spring. It doesn't hurt that he lives less than an hour a way.

Hernando's Bradley Sowell traveled south every Saturday during Ole Miss spring practices to soak in as much football as possible and to get to know the new coaching staff.

"I love Ole Miss," Sowell said Tuesday. "I like it a lot down there. It's liked my new home already, that's how comfortable I feel there."

Sowell has been impressed with the progress the Rebels have made over the spring practice period.

"I went to their first practice of the spring and they really showed a lot of improvement towards the end," Sowell said. "They are much better already this spring than they were last year."

One person that Sowell has been spending a lot of time with and getting to know is new offensive line coach Art Kehoe.

"He is such a great coach and so easy to talk to," Sowell said. "He has a very close relationship with all of his players, he makes you want to play your heart out for him and I'm not even there yet."

Sowell also realizes that he needs to be in the best shape of his life when he gets to Ole Miss, but for now he is concentrating on helping his Tigers get better this fall.

"I don't want to brag but I feel that I'm probably in the best shape I have ever been in," Sowell said. "Oh I realize it will be different once I get to Ole Miss, but I can't wait. We are going to be a better team at Hernando this fall as well. We only loss a couple of starters and have the majority of our team back, it should be an exciting year."

Growing up an Ole Miss fan and attending Rebel games since 1997, it doesn't take long to figure out why the 6-foot-8, 320-pound offensive tackle is so excited about his future in Oxford.

"It's always been a dream of mine to play at Ole Miss," Sowell said. "Now that dream is getting close to becoming a reality. I know that Ole Miss is where I belong, no doubt about it."
