Despite the decision yesterday of five-star defensive end Carlos Dunlap, South Carolina will finish with the best recruiting class in school history and a class that has more than satisfied each positional need. In today's column we will take a look at some of the top players in the class, and some possible late additions that could even further solidify USC's projected top-10 finish.
There is no question USC took a recruiting hit yesterday when Dunlap announced his "public" commitment to Florida. The 6-foot-7, 260-pound defensive end had been privately committed to South Carolina since his visit on Dec. 15. Any time you lose the top-rated in-state prospect and a national recruit, it hurts. However, if there has ever been a year when USC can survive such a hit, it is this year.
