Smelley enjoys dominating season

One of the Crimson Tide's homegrown commitments, ACA star Brad Smelley, has been on fire with his high school squad, leading his Patriots to a 6-1 record and a strong possibility of a region championship in the future. Smelley, a quarterback and linebacker with the Patriots, is likely headed to the H-back role with the Tide - but in the meantime, it is his opponents at the Class 2A level that is anxiously awaiting his expiration of eligibility.

"I am happy with the way I have been playing," said Smelley, who recently had two rushing touchdowns, two passing touchdowns and an interception return for a score in a big region win over Pickens County. "I am just having a lot of fun this year and we are clicking as a team.

In the 29-19 win over Pickens County two weeks ago that all but sealed a region championship, Smelley went head to head with fellow Tide commitment Michael Williams.
