Video: Izzo reflects on Green and White Game

EAST LANSING - Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo was on the receiving end of a Gatorade bath from Deon Curry, who played as a walk-on for Izzo during the second half of the 2006-2007 basketball season.

Curry was probably the only basketball player remaining on the Green Team sideline to see Izzo get drenched for his role as an honorary captain for the winning Green team in Michigan State's annual Green and White Spring football game.

"They had no faith in me as a football guy," joked Izzo of the early departure of members of his basketball team. "But we had some fun and we are eating the steaks."

Izzo liked what he saw from Michigan
State's young receivers including Mark Dell who paced the Green Team with 6 catches for 120 yards. Izzo also liked what he saw from true freshman Johnny Adams who made some plays for the White team.

Izzo said being the honorary captain for the Green Team was special to him.
"To me it was (special)," said Izzo. "Some people will think that I am crazy, but it was special being out here with this great crowd and getting to know Mark (Dantonnio) a little bit better from a different side."

Izzo also enjoyed seeing defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi in action on the sideline and in the locker room as head coach of the Green Team.
