Three-star LB making second visit to Starkville

Three-star linebacker Ferlando Bohanna is closing in on a decision.

The six-foot, 232-pound inside linebacker from Memphis, Tenn., is hoping to make his college choice known at the end of his senior season. But Bohanna and the rest of his Whitehaven High School teammates hope that is several weeks away.

"I'm not really focused on recruiting right now because I want to wait until the season is over," Bohanna said. "I just tell all the coaches that I am going to make my decision when the season is over. Hopefully I will have at least three weeks before I have to do that."

Bohanna currently has scholarship offers from Clemson, Middle Tennessee, Mississippi State and Southern Miss.

Bohanna has already helped lead the Tigers into the second round of the Class 6A State Playoffs making 71 tackles (32 solo, 39 assists), two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, one interception and three pass deflections.

"We're 9-2 and just got done with the first round of the playoffs on Friday and beat Germantown 28-7 and that was a big game for us," Bohanna said. "We've got Wooddale on Friday. They are 9-2 and are a pretty good football team. They've really got better players than what they had last year so we've just got to go get ready to play football."

Following his game, Bohanna will make his way down to Starkville on Saturday for Mississippi State's battle with No. 3 Alabama, his second visit to MSU this season.
