Fla. stud makes his pick

One of the reasons Charlie Strong was hired as the new head coach at the University of Louisville was his recruiting prowess, including his ties to Florida. It hasn't taken the new coach long to prove worthy, as he picked up a commitment from Miami speedster Corvin Lamb Wednesday, a three-star prospect who had offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Nebraska, and North Carolina, among others.

Lamb, a 5-9, 191-pound running back from Northwestern H.S. in Miami, said he committed "a few minutes ago" when reached by Wednesday evening. "It's an opportunity with a new coaching staff and it's a good opportunity for me," Lamb said when asked why he chose the Cardinals. "I know Coach Strong real well. And I want to make a name for myself, so I'll do it there."
