Tall Texas DE visiting Miss. St.

Things are said to be bigger in Texas.

Mississippi State found one such example in 6-foot-8 , 235-pound defensive end Paul Crawford and offered him a scholarship. The Lewisville native will board a plane this morning for his official visit.

"My flight leaves at 6:55 in the morning and I arrive in Atlanta at around 11 o'clock," Crawford said. "From there I'm flying in to Mississippi and the staff should pick me up."

The Bulldogs appear to have caught the eye of the Hebron High School standout.

"It's the SEC so you've got to take a look at that," Crawford said. "I've been checking out their program and they have a pretty good academic program also down there. They've got a good criminal law program. I've been talking with and like Coach (Scott) Sallach. My top two SEC schools are Arkansas and Mississippi State. I thought I needed to come down there and check it out this weekend and see how well I like it."

Another aspect that could play into MSU's factor is the distance from home. Crawford admitted that he wanted to get away for college but not so far away that it would hinder him from visiting occasionally.
