Thomas talks UVa, visits on deck

After his high school team's recent state championship run recently, Onalaska (Wis.) guard Matt Thomas has finally gotten a chance to relax. Well, relax as much as a three-star guard can these days.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Thomas put recruiting on the backburner for much of his junior season and apparently, it was a good decision. Thomas scored 30 points in helping lead Onalaska to a 55-38 victory over Kaukauna in the state's Division 2 championship game on March 17. His squad posted a 27-1 record on the year and won the third state title in school history.

For Thomas, a quintessential mid-western kid right down to the haircut, the success he's had on the court and off it with roughly a dozen schools coming through with scholarship offers has been surprising.
