Ohio TE to visit SU

Bucyrus (OH) Wynford tight end Teven Eatmon is a newcomer to the recruiting scene, but he has become a hot commodity in recruiting with over 10 offers right now. One of those ten offers came from Syracuse.

"When it [the Syracuse offer] came in I was a little surprised because I did not hear much from them, but they came to visit me and my quarterback at our school. I did not really think that they would offer and when they did offer I was just excited, could not stop smiling."

Eatmon, 6-foot-7, 280 pounds is on the bigger side for a tight end; his size is one item that sticks out for the Orange as well how he carries himself.

"They said to me that they like my character and they like my size. They showed their offensive staff my film and they were going to put me in at tackle. Then the tight end coach said that he liked the way I can move, so they said they would want me to play tight end when I first get there and move me to tackle if I get bigger."

Tight end is the main position for Eatmon, so is a possible switch to the offensive line something he would enjoy?

"I don't want to do it, but if that is the best fit for me then I will go and play that."

A visit has not been made to Syracuse yet by the Ohio product, but he does like what he has heard.

"I have not really got out there to see it yet, but so far I hear a lot of good things about Syracuse basketball and sports wise. With what I am hearing so far is that it is a pretty good school."

Stan Drayton has been heading up the recruitment of Eatmon for the Orange. Right now the relationship between the two is solid, but there is room for more time so the two can get to know each other better.

"Coach Drayton is recruiting me," Eatmon said. "Our relationship is actually good last time we talked we spoke for about a half hour and we talked about personal stuff and things like that. He was just telling me that he would like to get to know me more and my background."

With 10 offers he does not have a top five or a leader at this time, but he is ready to think about official visits and he also has a visit set up for the end of this month.

"No I do not have a top five right now. I have only visited two schools (Western Michigan and Bowling Green) and I am still waiting to make official visit. I am going to actually visit Syracuse on the 30th and 31st of this month."

What will Eatmon be looking for on his trip to New York?

"I would really like to see Syracuse knowing that Jim Brown went there and Ernie Davis went there, after I watched "The Express" and it sounds like a pretty good school, pretty good football program. I would like to see the campus, meet the coaches, and meet Coach Drayton again. I just want to go up there and see what they have to offer."

After the visit to Syracuse the time to narrow his list of schools could becoming soon.

"I want to narrow things down and I will probably starting doing that within a month or so. A lot of schools are not trying to rush me, but they said my position may get filled. They tell me if I am considering them then I should hurry, but they are not trying to rush me."

Sometimes when it comes to picking a school a prospect may like to go to a school with someone that they know. That would be the best case for Eatmon, but he does know it does not always workout that way.

"Actually there is only one other kid I know that is going to go division one and me and him are the only two out of our school to be offered by division one schools and that's my quarterback Tyler Brause. I would really like to go to school with him. It would be pretty cool if we went to the same school."
Tyler Brause who also has a Syracuse offer will also be making the trip to Syracuse with Eatmon.
