Johnson connects with Mississippi State staff

Oak Grove (Miss.) four-star wide receiver Robert Johnson has built a strong relationship with the Mississippi State coaching staff throughout the recruiting process.

Johnson has made several visits to the Starkville campus this summer and has had a chance to get to know the entire coaching staff especially head coach Dan Mullen.

"I'm thinking very well with Mississippi State," Johnson said. "I've got a good relationship with the whole coaching staff, not just one coach but the whole coaching staff. I talk to Coach Mullen a lot on Facebook and we've got a real good connection. I can't wait to go back up there and reconnect. When he first saw my highlight tape he said the first thing he thought of Percy Harvin. I was real proud of that just to be compared to him."

The Bulldogs are not the only school bidding for the talented 6-foot-1, 196-pounder's services. Johnson also hold offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, West Virginia, Louisiana Tech, Tulsa and Alcorn State.

But out of all his offers there is one school that stands out above the rest to Johnson even though they have yet to offer him.

"Everybody is kind of staying in the same boat," Johnson said. "I've got a favorite school (Florida State) but they haven't offered. I'm just kind of waiting them out. I'll probably start evaluating things at the start of the season."

Even if the Seminoles do get in the mix, Johnson will likely still wait things out until making his decision.
