Giles sticking with the Bulldogs

Cordell Giles was one of Mississippi State's first three commitments picked up during junior day back in February.

But many rumors have circulated about the 6-foot-3, 235-pound Ray Brooks standout since then. While Giles has received plenty of interest from other programs from around the country, he remains true to his word and the Bulldogs.

"It's difficult because I have different people calling at different times asking what am I going to do and if I'm still with Mississippi State or am I going to Ole Miss, Texas, Tennessee, Memphis or whoever," Giles said. "Like I tell all the recruiters, I made a verbal commitment with Mississippi State and for right now that's where I want to be."

Giles along with Michael Carr and Brandon Hill all gave their pledge to MSU on Feb. 28 becoming the first members of the 2010 class.

"One of the reasons I chose Mississippi State is when I walked on campus it was huge," Giles said. "The people there are nice. Everyone there treated me like I was already family. I know their classrooms are pretty decent and their football team is good. Mississippi State was the first one to come through to offer me and I think I'm ready to take that challenge. I'm ready to roll."

Giles is rated as a three-star tight end by Rivals but is also being recruited on the defensive side of the ball as well. The Bulldogs are recruiting Giles as an athlete.
