Complete 2012/13 Razorback Basketball Roster
The Arkansas Razorbacks open the 2012/13 basketball season with a game against Sam Houston State in Little Rock, and it should be an entertaining affair.

Sophomore guard B.J. Young has
been suspended for the opener

The Hogs will be without star sophomore guard
B.J. Young, who was suspended for the last exhibition game also but will be available after Friday's contest. Young however will have to wait until the Nov. 19 Longwood game before that happens as there is quite a gap between the first and second games.

Aside from missing Young, Anderson has to feel good about where his team is right now. The numbers are as strong as they have been since beforeJohn Pelphreywas coaching the Hogs. There is a good deal of youth, but there are some really nice pieces to the puzzle.

"Every time they've gone out, they've played the right way," Anderson said. "Sometimes they overdue things. You don't worry about that. They'll learn the intricacies as they continue to play with the team."

"The one thing that I can say is I have a better idea going into the season-opener this year than I did last year."

The Hogs won the first two exhibition games in blowout fashion, topping 100 points each time. The last game against Lemoyne-Owen, the Hogs won by 66 points, 111-45. That includes starting out 18-0 against the Magicians while starters were on the floor. That group includes sophomoresHunter MickelsonandRashad Madden.

"They've had a year under their belts. Having a chance to practice and play this summer, I think that hopefully will pay off. I thought it was very, very important for our guys to get a feel for what we do."

It also includes juniorsMardracus WadeandRickey Scottas well asMarshawn Powell, who received a medical redshirt last year and is back for a second shot at his junior season.

New to to the fold are four true freshmen in high-flyingMichael Qualls, sharp-shooterAnthlon Bell, the athleticJacorey Williamsand floor-leaderDeQuavious Wagner. The Hogs also added gritty forwardCoty Clarkefrom the junior college ranks.

Qualls has been a highlight reel with six monster dunks so far in the exhibition games. Bell went 6 of 10 from 3-point range in those contests, and Clarke put up 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the exhibition win over LOC.
