Arkansas Junior Day Primer

Some of Arkansas' top targets for the Class of 2015 will be in Fayetteville on Saturday for the Razorbacks' second junior day of the year.

Here's a quick rundown of who's expected and where they stand with the Hogs going into the weekend:

  • Ty Storey, 4-star QB, Charleston (Ark.)
-- Has been committed to the Hogs since last summer despite holding other offers from Alabama, Auburn and Louisville. Plans to help the Razorbacks land other big-time prospects on the offensive side of the ball.

  • Zach Rogers, 4-star OL, Hebron (Texas)
-- Chose the Hogs over Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Baylor and UCLA last summer and has remained solid ever since. Was just in Fayetteville for a weekend getaway two weeks ago.

  • Colton Jackson, 3-star OL, Conway (Ark.)
-- Jumped on board with a commitment late last summer but is still hearing from Missouri, Nebraska, Vanderbilt and several others.

  • Will Gragg, 4-star TE, Pine Bluff (Ark.)
-- Holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas, Florida State, Arkansas State, Louisville, Oklahoma, LSU, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Virginia. Has an announcement date set for November 18. Released a top five a few weeks ago but has ultimately decided to re-evaluate after landing so many new offers.

  • K.J. Hill, 3-star WR, North Little Rock (Ark.)
-- One of the fastest-rising prospects in the South as of late. Has offers from Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma State, Arizona State, Louisville, Notre Dame, Arkansas State, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Penn State. Plans to make a decision during his senior season. He and Gragg will likely choose the same college program.

  • Ronald Jones II, 4-star RB, McKinney (Texas)
-- The nation's No. 2 running back and the No. 39 overall prospect in this year's class according to Rivals.com. Jones plans on taking his time and probably won't have a decision until very late in the process, but Arkansas is definitely fortunate to have him on campus for an early visit.

  • Chris Warren, 4-star RB, Rockwall (Texas)
-- A Rivals250 prospect and the No. 14 running back in the nation for this year's class. Warren has been high on Arkansas' wish list for many months. He will trim his list to six this summer, three this fall, and will likely make a decision after his senior season.

  • Daytrieon Dean, 3-star DE, Fort Smith (Ark.) Northside
-- Holds early offers from the Hogs, Ole Miss and Arkansas State, and plans on announcing his decision on June 30. Louisville, Alabama, Memphis and others have turned in more interest lately, too. Arkansas sits in a very good position with Dean as of right now.

  • Deon Stewart, 3-star WR, Highland (Ark.)
-- Could become the next instate player to receive an offer from the Razorbacks in the days or weeks ahead. If (when) Arkansas offers, the Hogs will have a very good chance at landing Stewart's pledge. He holds early offers from Louisville, Ole Miss, Arkansas State, Tulsa and Southern Miss.

  • Avery Johnson, 3-star ATH, Highland (Ark.)
-- Has offers from Southern Miss and Arkansas State and should land plenty more over the next several months. Arkansas has had him on its radar for quite some time and continues to evaluate him closely.

  • Dahu Green, 3-star WR, Moore (Okla.) Westmoore
-- Holds offers from Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville, Southern Miss, Tulsa and Washington State. It would come as no surprise if the Hogs join that list after this weekend's visit.

  • Sam Tecklenburg, 3-star OL, Plano (Texas)
-- Arkansas State, UCONN, SMU, Texas Tech and Tulsa have already jumped on board with an offer, and the Razorbacks may join them at some point in the near future. Tecklenburg is rated the No. 85 prospect in the state of Texas in this year's class.

    WHAT TO WATCH FOR

    1. Will Stewart get his offer?
Last weekend the Razorbacks shelled out instate offer No. 7 to Fayetteville tight end C.J. O'Grady. Stewart's stock has been on the rise for awhile now, and the Razorbacks may decide to go ahead and try to lock him up with an offer and a commitment in the very near future.

    2. Can Arkansas improve its chances with the two big-time running backs?
Make no mistake, Jones and Warren are two of the elite tailbacks in the country this year. The Hogs worked their magic by landing out-of-state stud Alex Collins in 2013 and would like to do it again with another early impact type of player next February. Establishing a solid position with one or both of these two visitors could pay off in a big way down the line.

    3. What impact will the current commits have on the uncommitted instate prospects?
Storey, Rogers and Jackson are doing their best to get other top targets to join the commitment list. Gragg and Hill are Storey's top two targets right now, and it will be interesting to hear the quarterback's comments after having a full day to work on both of those guys.
