Las Vegas Bishop Gorman running back Demarco Murray, the nation's top-ranked all-purpose back and a five-star selection, is the top-ranked prospect in the state. Murray, who has offers from nearly every school in the country, is the nation's No. 18 overall prospect.

Another Bishop Gorman standout, cornerback DeAngelo Wilkinson comes in at No. 9. Wilkinson boasts a Wisconsin offer and has plenty of interest from other schools.

A pair of Las Vegas High prospects, cornerback Jashaad Gaines and all-purpose back Eric Jordan, both are in the top five. Gaines, a safety, has offers from Oklahoma, Washington and Utah while Jordan has been offered by Oregon State, among others.

Other Vegas-area players in the top 10 are defensive end Mike Smith (No. 4), wide receiver Davell Jackson (No. 6), athlete Quentin Carter and wide receiver Troy Cummings (No. 10).

Sparks defensive tackle Jerzy Siewierski rates No. 2 on the list while Reno offensive guard Derek Kosub is No. 8.

The list was compiled by Rivals.com regional recruiting analysts Rick Kimbrel and Greg Biggins and national analyst Jeremy Crabtree.

Last year, Las Vegas linebacker Ryan Reynolds signed with Oklahoma while Henderson defensive back Brett Johnson signed with Cal. Kimbrel feels that the growing population of Nevada has contributed to the state becoming a state that college recruiters have on their list of places to seek talent.

"As the population grows, so does the quality and quantity of players," Kimbrel said "This year could end up just as good or better than the Class of 2005."
