Ash leaves for Ohio State job

Razorback defensive coordinator Chris Ash has taken a position as co-defensive coordinator at Ohio State, leaving Arkansas a vacancy at defensive coordinator and safeties coach.
Ash leaves Arkansas after a year at the position. He followed Arkansas coach Bret Bielema from Wisconsin where he coached from 2010-2012.

"Have always felt transition on my staff has allowed us to get even better. Have had success hiring right people and will again," Bielema said on Twitter.
While candidates will emerge for the vacancy, a current staff member Bielema may look to is linebackers coach Randy Shannon. Shannon is a former head coach at Miami and was defensive coordinator for the Hurricanes for six seasons before being elevated to head coach.
The coaches are currently at the American Football Coaches Convention, which concludes on Monday. The University of Arkansas has yet to release an official statement on Ash's departure.
