It feels like it's been a year since DeSoto wide receiver Jaedon Wilson made his pledge to the Hogs–but it was only in June. Arkansas has added 12 commits to the 2021 class since.

All summer, Wilson's been biding his time and working on his craft to get ready for what he hopes will be a title-winning final season.

“We’re very excited, we have to show everyone what we’re capable of," Wilson said. "We’ve been working hard and grinding to get better and win a state championship."

Playing in one of the toughest divisions in Texas high school football, DeSoto was bounced out of the 6A playoffs by Southlake Carroll in 2019, but they have a lot of tools to go far in 2020.

Along with Wilson, DeSoto has Illinois QB commit Samari Collier, Texas Tech wide receiver commit Jerand Bradley, Baylor defensive tackle commit Byron Murphy, uncommitted 4-star defensive end Shemar Turner, UConn offensive line commit Yakiri Walker and Colorado State defensive back commit Lathan Adams–not to mention all the other players who are weighing early DI offers.

Getting ready for his season which starts in a couple weeks, Wilson is hoping to build on his 28 reception, 523 yard, seven touchdown performance from 2019.

“I’m just getting better at attacking the ball, coming back to the ball, simple stuff," Wilson said. "I’ve been working on everything, you can never do too much.”

Despite a dull season to play, the Texas native still has Arkansas front of mind.

“I’ve been talking to Coach Stepp for a long time and he really loves me, man," Wilson said. "He’s just a great coach. Coach Briles, knowing him from Baylor and his offense, I can already picture myself in his offense, running the plays. I remember certain plays from KD Cannon and Corey Coleman from back in day. Just been watching it and getting to know a lot of things already."

Wilson is one of nearly 10 Razorback commits looking to graduate early and enroll at Arkansas in time for spring football.

He doesn't go too hard on the recruiting front but Wilson was instrumental in helping the Hogs pull in their most recent commit, 4-star wide receiver KeTron Jackson out of Royse City, who he's known since they were young.

“I do recruit some other guys, my man KeTron Jackson finally committed," Wilson said. "We’re ready to shock the world.”

The Eagles open the season on the road at Southlake at 7 p.m. on the 24th.
