McCann impresses at Arkansas camp

Texarkana (Ark.) defensive tackle Nick McCann was one of the most impressive defensive targets on hand for Arkansas' camp over the weekend, and he's hoping to add the Razorbacks to his growing list of offers at some point down the line.
McCann has all the tools coaches look for in a 6-3, 290-pound defensive tackle, and he believes he'll be a better technique player after working with Arkansas D-line coach Rory Segrest on Saturday.

"The one on ones went good," McCann said. "There are still some things I have to work on, keep my pad level low still and a couple of moves I learned. (For example) what they call forklift and steering, where you take your hands and do what you want with them instead of them getting their hands on you."
McCann already holds offers from several schools and will be visiting more in the weeks ahead.
"I've got Baylor, Tulsa, Kansas, Texas Tech, Texas State, ULM, I think OSU (Oklahoma State University), Stephen F. Austin," McCann said. "That's all the ones I can remember right now.
"I gotta go to OU next Wednesday and there is a possibility that I might go to Ole Miss on July 18th. On July 25th, I've got to go to Auburn."
The rising defensive tackle said Arkansas' staff was honest with him about where things stand in their evaluation process.
"I told them that, academically (GPA-wise), I am good, but I told them that I have to get my ACT up to 18 or 19," McCann said. "They said that is all they are waiting on now since I got my academics."
While some schools are still waiting on McCann's next test results, he's still added enough offers to be considered the fastest-rising player in the state for the Class of 2016.
"This spring I was really surprised," McCann said. "I met this one man and he helped get my name out there to one college and then they called me and offered. Then colleges kept on finding out.

"I was really surprised when Baylor found out and they offered. They offered me before I even went to their camp."
