It's been a wild last few weeks for Little Rock (Ark.) Pulaski Robinson defensive end David Porter, and he is now headed to the Hill to play for the instate Hogs.

Porter, 6-3, 235, received late pushes and verbal offers from Texas, Baylor and Rutgers down the final stretch before committing to Colorado State last Tuesday. He visited Arkansas over the weekend and announced his de-committment from CSU Sunday morning after a 10:30 a.m. meeting with Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema.

Porter then went public with his commitment to the Razorbacks.

"I'm still excited, just real excited," Porter told HawgSports.com. "They actually offered me and Coach B seemed very happy about it. I feel like he expected this to happen and for me to go ahead and flip to Arkansas."

"It's gonna be amazing to play with T.J. and Koilan. It really just made me feel at home because I know other guys up here besides them, too."

Porter, who also held earlier offers from Kansas State, Iowa State and others, was hosted by his former high school teammate and current Arkansas freshman running back T.J. Hammonds during the weekend visit.

He was recruited to Arkansas by instate recruiter Barry Lunney Jr. and new defensive coordinator Paul Rhoads.

Porter's late rise came as a result of a huge senior season in which he recorded 105 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 13 sacks for the Joe T. Robinson Senators. He could play outside linebacker in Arkansas' new 3-4 defense in 2017.

Porter is considered the No. 7 prospect in the state by HawgSports.com's Natural 21 instate rankings and took part in the Rivals Camp Series in Kansas City last summer.

Arkansas also has a commitment from Robinson wide receiver Koilan Jackson in this year's class.

HawgSports will have more on Porter's pledge shortly.
