Texas WR Savion Williams Narrows Choices After Arkansas Official

Marshall, Texas 3-star wide receiver Savion Williams is one of the most heavily recruited wide receivers from East Texas this cycle, following in the footsteps of Arkansas signee T.Q. Jackson.

Williams was one of five official visitors on the Hill this weekend and he's getting ready for a June decision.

"It was a nice time, it was probably one of the best visits I've been on," Williams said. "The highlights were... eating a lot, partying, throwing axes. We went to the Ozark Axe House, I got used to it."

Williams was hosted by Arkansas's freshman star wide receiver Trey Knox this weekend and he was Justin Stepp's only visitor to entertain. Despite 13 other offers, it looks like the Hogs will have one main competitor for the 3-star pass catcher.

"I'm going to Kansas in June, Coach Miles talks to me a lot and tells me he wants me to get up there," Williams said.

One advantage Arkansas has over Kansas is the close-knit relationships they've developed with Williams from the GA level up to the Head Hog.

"My relationship with the coaches is tight, we're really close," Williams said. "We talk all the time. They've given me a good idea of where I'll fit in but we didn't sit and watch tape yet."

According to MaxPreps, Williams had 42 catches for 659 yards and 12 touchdowns in his junior season.
