Arkansas worked inside the Walker Pavilion Tuesday and held practice earlier than usual on Tuesday with a start time at approximately 2 p.m. thanks classes being closed for fall break.
Patton expected back
Arkansas should be getting tight end Jeremy Patton this week. Patton suffered an ankle injury last week during practice an was not able to play in the Alabama game.
“It’s tough for a guy to go out on a Wednesday,” tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. said. “I know he was disappointed not to go in there and compete, but he wasn’t near ready to play. Hopefully he’ll be more ready to play on Saturday.”
As a whole the tight ends are not playing as well as they did to start the season. Cheyenne O’Grady opened the South Carolina game with a catch and lost fumble that set up at Gameockc field goal, and last Saturday he had 4 receptions for only 8 yards. His first 9 catches this season all went for either first downs or touchdowns.
“Some of his plays early in the year came on screens…there’s some tendencies there and we’re trying to break tendencies,” Lunney said. “You can’t press that. You’ve just got to let the flow of the game happen. As much as our guys are on the field, and as much as we use them in the passing structure, inevitably they’re going to come.”
