What does Chase Hayden's commitment mean for the Razorbacks' 2017 class? Check out the Commitment Analysis for a full breakdown:
THE COMMITMENT
Hayden choosing the Hogs over other finalists Oklahoma State and Missouri was no surprise since he named Arkansas his leader on June 23. However, the timing of it was somewhat interesting considering he visited Missouri on Saturday and, as the PowerMizzou.com writers put it, had the "red carpet rolled out" for him while in Columbia.
Tennessee was always thought to be the favorite to land Hayden, whose father Aaron played running back for the Vols, but it appears UT had other running back targets rated ahead of the Rivals250 prospect.
Arkansas made the Germantown (Tenn.) St. George's running back a top priority throughout the process, and Hayden said he's been in contact with head coach Bret Bielema once a day for several weeks now. That, along with Bielema's annual tradition of producing at least one 1,000-yard rusher, were key factors in Hayden's decision.
Hayden's commitment kept the Hogs' summer momentum going, too, as the Razorbacks have now landed a total of 10 commitments since the beginning of June (eight for the Class of 2017, one for 2018, and another one who's considered a late addition for last year's class).
WILL IT HOLD?
Arkansas is more than happy to accept Hayden's commitment, but based on what he told PowerMizzou.com this weekend, the Hogs will have to keep recruiting him as if he's still undecided.
