How two of Arkansas’ coaches were rated as recruits

Before they were coaching in the college ranks, many coaches were vying for time on the field as players.

Plenty of Arkansas football's coaches playing days came before Rivals starting rating recruits in 2002, while some were being recruited just before Rivals started ranking recruits.

Arkansas defensive coordinator Travis Williams was recruited to Auburn in 2001 and co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson was recruited to Ole Miss in 1998.

Two of Arkansas' current coaches, however, have playing days that are recent enough that we can take a look back at their recruiting rankings.

Of course, recruiting was different back then. NIL deals, the transfer portal and social media were not as widely prevalent as they are today. There also wasn't the Early Signing Period in December. It was just one day in February.

Here's a look at two of Arkansas' coaches who show up in the Rivals database as recruits.
