Hogs make top 10 for in-state four-star running back
Braylen Russell, a four-star running back from Benton, announced his top 10 schools he will be choosing from, and the Razorbacks found themselves on the list.
Russell, standing 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, actually committed to Arkansas on Nov. 6, 2021, but walked back that decision almost a year later in Oct. 2022.
The Hogs are definitely not out of it, though. Russell's top 10 includes Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, Texas A&M and others.
Russell took a visit to Fayetteville on Jan. 21 during Arkansas' second-to-last Prospect Day before the NCAA recruiting dead period.
Rivals ranks Russell as a 5.8 four-star recruit and the No. 205 player in the country.
Arkansas makes top 5 cut for Mississippi wide receiver
Another highly-ranked recruit in the class of 2024 dropped a list of his top schools, and Arkansas found itself still in the running.
Noreel White, a four-star athlete from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, included the Hogs along with Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Florida State and LSU.
Last season for St. Martin High School, White played on both sides of the ball at defensive back and wide receiver. Offensively, he gained 1,109 all-purpose yards and scored 13 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 55 tackles and three interceptions.
White is a 5.8 four-star recruit, the No. 247 player in the nation and No. 6 in the state of Mississippi, according to Rivals.
Arkansas misses out on in-state four-star quarterback Walker White
Arkansas is still looking for its quarterback in the 2024 class, and it missed out on a home-grown talent as Walker White, a four-star quarterback from Little Rock Christian, announced his commitment to Auburn.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound passer had recently been pursued by Arkansas offensive coordinator Dan Enos, but it was too little, too late for the Hogs. White released a Top 3 of Auburn, Baylor and Clemson, and announced his commitment to the Tigers last Friday.
Along with Arkansas, White held offers from Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and others. He took a visit to Arkansas on Jan. 21 during the Razorbacks' Prospect Day.
Arkansas basketball offers three-star forward out of California
Recruiting never stops for Eric Musselman, and after finishing the high school class of 2023, he is getting a start on the class of 2024.
Marcus Adams Jr., a four-star forward from Harbor City, California, reported an offer from the Razorbacks on Wednesday. He is ranked by Rivals as a three-star recruit.
In addition to Arkansas, Adams holds offers from Texas, Kansas, UCLA and others. He recently announced a Top 5 of UCLA, Texas, Oregon, Mississippi State and Syracuse, but said in the tweet his recruitment is still open and "can change at any moment."
Arkansas offers 2024 four-star athlete from Mississippi
The class of 2024 continues to pick up steam for head coach Sam Pittman, and a new offer was extended to a four-star athlete from Mississippi on Tuesday.
Braylon Burnside, of Starkville, Mississippi, reported the offer on his Twitter account.
Burnside, who plays wide receiver in high school, recorded 1,158 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, averaging 15.6 yards per reception. He helped Starkville High School to a 6A state championship win last season and was awarded First Team All-State.
In addition to the Hogs, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete holds offers from both in-state schools Ole Miss and Mississippi State, Florida State and others. He is ranked the No. 3 player in the state of Mississippi and the No. 145 player in the country in the class of 2024.
Rivals listed Arkansas' new co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson as Burnside's primary recruiter from Florida State, where he coached defensive backs. The familiarity with Woodson should put Arkansas in a good position with Burnside's commitment down the stretch.
Arkansas sets date for spring football game, Woo Pig Weekend
Spring practices for Arkansas football are set to begin on March 9, and the university announced the date for the annual Red-White game on Thursday.
The game will take place on April 15, and will be a good time for Sam Pittman and company to get as many recruits on campus as possible, as it is an action-packed weekend for Arkansas sports as whole.
In addition to the football scrimmage, which will kick off at noon, Arkansas baseball will be taking on Tennessee in the same weekend, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. Lot 44 will also be open for fans to enjoy Hog Town, which includes live music, games and food trucks.
Expect to see plenty of visitors added that weekend. You can find the list in the days leading up to the weekend by heading over to The Trough, HawgBeat's premium message board.
