Arkansas remained undefeated over the weekend with a four-game sweep of a Gonzaga team picked to win its conference.

If you missed any of the action, check out our Game 1, Game 2, Game 3 and Game 4 recaps. Before we turn the page to the third week of the season - which features three Big 12 matchups at the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic in Houston - we’re going to take a final look back at Week 2.

This is the second edition of our “3 Up, 3 Down” series for HawgBeat subscribers. Each Monday, we’ll focus on three players - or areas - that are trending up and three that are trending down.

Week 1 - Eastern Illinois

Three Up

Robert Moore

No matter how old you are, a weekend like the one Moore had deserves the top spot in a list like this. Throw in the fact he is just a 17-year-old freshman who should be playing his senior year of high school ball instead of starting for a top-10 SEC team and it’s even more incredible.

All he did in the four-game sweep of Gonzaga was go 8 for 12 with a double, home run, nine RBIs, four runs, four walks and two stolen bases while playing tremendous defense. All of that came just a week after landing in the “three down” section for a 1-for-12 performance that included a team-high four strikeouts against Eastern Illinois.

The craziest stat from Moore’s weekend was that he went a perfect 7 for 7 with runners in scoring position. As awesome as that was, though, his glove work in the field and heads up base running were arguably more memorable.

In addition to turning a couple of smooth double plays, Moore also landed on SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays for this web gem:

On the base paths, Moore pulled off a veteran move by swiping third base following a walk to Heston Kjerstad when he noticed no one was covering it because of the shift.

The complete performance earned him SEC co-Player of the Week honors. It’s the first time the Razorbacks have ever earned those accolades in consecutive weeks, as Kjerstad got the nod last weekend.
