With the 2024 season coming to an end during the Fayetteville Regional for Arkansas baseball, it is time for the Diamond Hogs to hit the road for summer league competition across the United States.
Each summer, college baseball players compete in summer leagues all over the map and the Razorbacks are routinely well-represented.
The coaches help set up where each player should play — generally before the season starts — but all is subject to change given the circumstance of each guy. Depending on how tired a specific player is, he could not go play summer ball at all, or he could be pulled early.
Other players could make the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team roster, such as pitchers Gabe Gaeckle and Christian Foutch, who were invited Monday to training camp.
Arkansas is represented in four different leagues, and the Cape Cod Baseball League leads the way with 11 Diamond Hogs listed. Last summer, the CCBL streamed games on D1Baseball.com free of charge for fans.
Summer baseball is a great way for players to continue to develop against other college baseball players. The Razorbacks have had players go off and play summer baseball and return much-improved in recent years, such as RHP Dylan Carter, RHP Jake Faherty, former OF Jace Bohrofen and plenty of others.
