-Arkansas picked up the 32nd most votes (tie) in the first USA Today Coaches Poll, coming outside of the top-25 with 34 total votes.
-Bielema said 80 percent of the players are in classes today and tomorrow. Half get through with classes today, the other half tomorrow, and then they'll be finished.
-They will only strap on helmets the first two days. Then they'll go half pads Saturday, half pads Monday, full gear Tuesday, and Wedensday will be their first double-day.
-They'll have two scrimmages the first two Saturdays they will be in full pads and will also have some other scrimmage practices where less than 50 percent of the practice will be scrimmage work.
(more notes below the video)
-Bielema mentioned players who have transferred out, Eric Hawkins (SMU), Denzell Evans (believed to be Kansas), Derrick Graham (new name) and Willie Sykes (who will finish up semester and transfer out).
-Ke’Tyrus Marks isn’t on the roster, either. If he can get one more class finished in time then he could very well move along as a graduate transfer. Bielema said he would be very surprised if by the end of the year people didn’t look back and say the secondary was the most improved area of the team this season.
-Rafe Peavey is throwing, and Bielema isn't saying he'll be able to go through a whole practice. He is cleared to go, but it just depends on how much he can tolerate.
-True freshman QB Cole Kelly strained his back in the weight room but is expected to be good to go.
-Anyone who has had a big injury in the past, they will always be limited to one-a-day practices (most likely) - like Keon Hatcher, Jack Kraus, D.J. Dean, Brandon Lewis and others.
-In a formal team setting, the first rep Jake Raulerson will likely take is as the No. 2 center.
-Late junior college defensive end signee Michael Tayler won't arrive until the first week of classes, now.
-Bielema mentioned to Josh Williams that he could even line up at fullback this year in hopes of maximizing his senior season.
-The compliance offer does a great job of daily sending them tips about compliance and new rules, Bielema said. For example with Twitter, they're told 'you can click it, but you can't type it' when retweeting recruits.
-Regarding true freshman kicker Connor Limpert, they're going to see if he can compete for the job. He's anxious to see what their walk-ons can do. He said the rules are so good now that allows you to recruit a walk-on and also take care of them with meals and such.
-Tevin Beanum will finish up classes this week but has some things he has to deal with and won't be a part of the 105. If they have an injury, he'll probably be the first guy to join them. Bielema called it a unique personal situation.
-Randy Ramsey has moved to rush end. They may also give Brandon Lewis a look there if he's moving around pretty well.
-In the first few days, they want to get a good idea who their best 5-7 offensive linemen are. Not this Saturday but the next Saturday, they want to get a good idea of who those guys are and start developing continuity.
-Bielema said Brandon Allen was more laid back while Austin Allen is more 'ready to throw down.' Bielema said he spoke to Brooks Ellis the other day and asked how Allen was doing. He said that Allen came out and threw three times the other day because he wanted to spend time with every receiver and they couldn't all make it at the same time.
-He also added that he would be very surprised if by the end of the year people didn’t look back and say the secondary was the most improved area of the team this season.
-Reggie Mitchell will handle the kickoff return unit, Paul Rhoads will handle the kickoff coverage unit, Barry Lunney Jr. will handle the punt unit and Bielema will handle the punt return game...Which leaves Rory Segrest in charge of kickers.
