Dwight McGlothern accepts East-West Shrine Bowl invite
Arkansas standout senior cornerback Dwight McGlothern officially accepted an invite to play in the 99th East-West Shrine Bowl, which will take place on Feb. 1 at the Force Center in Frisco, Texas.
According to its website, the East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation. An important part of America’s football tradition, the event gives top college players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience.
A former LSU Tiger, McGlothern recorded 20 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and three interceptions in 2023. His 90.8 defense grade from Pro Football Focus was the third highest of any cornerback in the country and it was the best in the SEC this season.
McGlothern played in just nine games this season and started in six. Injuries hurt his second season in Fayetteville, which he entered as a preseason second team All-SEC selection.
Nicknamed "Nudie," McGlothern is the second Razorback to accept an invite from the East-West Shrine Bowl. Center Beaux Limmer accepted his invite on Nov. 27. While accepting an invite doesn't mean either player will not return to Arkansas, it is a good sign that they won't be back in Fayetteville.
