Carl Williams - Lufkin (Texas):

Evaluation: Williams is an absolute monster at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds who will fit in well in the John Chavis 4-3 defense as we understand it. The looks may at times be multiple up front and Williams is athletic enough to help slow down the run game or take on blockers. He plays primarily in a 3-4 in high school and is good at manhandling the center and causing disruption., but he is also athletic in space and has a good motor.

Recruiting Note: Arkansas has moved up to the top of the list here and could make a huge impact towards signing him when he takes his official visit on June 7.

Marcus Miller - Warren (Ark.):

Evaluation: Miller put up some impressive stats as a junior coming back from an injury to help lead his team to a state championship racking up 78 tackles and eight sacks playing defensive end in a 3-4 look. He uses his hands really well and is pretty explosive for a 6-foot-4, 290 pounder, so it was not a surprise to hear he had a basketball background as well. He has long arms and plays a bit too high at times, but this is a raw, athletic prospect with a high ceiling. If he can put an injury year together on tape he could climb the rankings ladder as a senior.

Recruiting Note: Miller is the teammate of top wide receiver target Treylon Burks. The two are very close and that could be a factor in both recruitments.

Enoch Jackson - Dallas (Texas):

Evaluation: Jackson is in a bit of a different mold than the two defensive tackles listed above and would be the perfect compliment to either one. He plays with a bit of a lower pad level and is very explosive off of the snap. He is a high-motor guy and that is not something that you see often on tape when breaking down this position. He has experience playing in the 4-3 and is dangerous in one-on-one situations for blockers as he gets off the ball quickly and fiercely. Jackson presses the action and makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage and his play as a junior netted him Defensive MVP honors in his district.

Recruiting Note: There are a lot of heavy hitters after Jackson, but he has some ties to the program that could benefit the Hogs in this race.
