Big-time safety set to visit Hogs
Arkansas will have many of its top targets on campus throughout the month of June, including one of the nation's top safeties in Kahlil Haughton of Waco (Texas) Midway.
Haughton, 6-1, 178, owns 23 offers including the likes of Baylor, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Penn State and several others. He is being recruited to Arkansas by Razorback assistants Clay Jennings and Michael Smith, and says he talks to them "every other day or two."
The heavily-recruited safety told Rivals.com's Jason Howell last month that he plans on narrowing his list to ten schools by the end of spring, and that he could reach a decision at some point during the summer.
Whitfield looking to earn Arkansas offer
Spiro (Okla.) athlete McKinley Whitfield is up to a dozen offers and hopes to add one from the Razorbacks when he attends their camp next month.
Whitfield, 6-4, 195, 4.58, was in Fayetteville for the Hogs' spring game in April and has remained in constant contact with the staff ever since.
"I'm going to try my hardest to get it," Whitfield said via text Thursday evening.
The instate Sooners also appear to be getting more involved with the versatile prospect. Whitfield said Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops was at his school on Thursday.
North Little Rock spring game set for tonight
HawgSports.com will be in attendance this evening when North Little Rock High School holds its spring game at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
Four-star wide receiver K.J. Hill is the main attraction, as he holds offers from the instate Razorbacks, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Oregon, Ohio State, Florida and many others.
But the Charging Wildcats have others who are worth a look, as well.
Running back D.J. Brown, who transferred from Little Rock Catholic earlier this year, owns offers from Illinois, Southern Miss, Northern Illinois, Arkansas State and Memphis, and is still in contact with several other big-name programs from across the country.
Cornerback Jaelon Scott and offensive lineman Austin Blair recently picked up offers from Louisiana-Monroe, while safety Tyler Phillips holds an early offer from Ouachita Baptist.
Pfeifer has summer plans
Bentonville (Ark.) offensive lineman Ean Pfeifer has 12 offers and is hitting the road this summer in hopes of landing more.
The 6-4, 285-pounder currently holds offers from the likes of Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, ULM, Southern Miss, Nevada, San Diego State and others. Yale recently offered a full-ride academic scholarship, as well.
Pfeifer said Vanderbilt could be the next addition to his list as he's receiving more and more interest from the Commodores as of late. He plans to camp at Vanderbilt on June 13 before moving on to camps at Louisville and Missouri. Pfeifer also mentioned Arkansas and Ole Miss as possible visits.
