Top 1

Gordon retires the Razorbacks in order on 15 pitches, using healthy doses of low-90s fastballs and high-70s sliders.

Bottom 1

Smith bounces back from a leadoff single with a strikeout and a 4-6-3 double play ball, escaping the inning with just 10 pitches to his name.

Top 2

The Razorbacks threaten with two men on and one out, but Gordon fans Diggs and Polk to keep it scoreless.

Bottom 2

Another leadoff runner goes to waste as Bolton and Stovall turn another double play. Smith is through two innings with 22 pitches.

Top 3

Bolton concludes his nine-pitch at-bat with a single, but Texas gets in on the double play festivities to face the minimum in the inning.

Bottom 3

Smith gets two of the three hitters he faces to whiff. He has faced the minimum nine batters on 34 pitches.

Top 4

Gordon strikes out a pair of Hogs, but his pitch count climbs north of 70.

Bottom 4

Smith strikes out the side, doubling his strikeout total on the evening. His pitch count is still under 50, and he has not faced more than three batters in an inning.

Top 5

Gordon sits the Razorbacks down in order once again. He has retired eight straight batters since Bolton's leadoff single in the third.

Bottom 5

Smith issues a pair of walks to begin the frame, but he strands them both in scoring position with two more strikeouts.

Top 6

Texas righty Lebarron Johnson relieves Gordon after five scoreless frames. The Hogs put two men on base with one out, but the double play kills the rally again.

Bottom 6

Crowder College transfer Cody Adcock relieves Smith after five innings of one-hit ball. The right-hander retires the Longhorns in order, and the two squads head to the late innings deadlocked at zero.

Top 7

Slavens and Wegner both hit singles to right to lead off the inning, chasing Johnson from the game. Left-hander Chris Stuart enters in relief and allows a two-run single to Diggs for the game's first runs. Bolton tacks on another run two batters later with an RBI double. The Hogs load the bases again with one out, but Stovall and Cali go down on strikes, so the margin stays at 3-0.

Bottom 7

Brown works a 10-pitch at-bat against Adcock that culminates in a leadoff home run. Guillemette follows with a double, prompting Dave Van Horn to turn to Nebraska transfer Koty Frank with the tying run at the plate. The right-hander retires all three batters he faces, but the inherited runner scores on a wild pitch to half the deficit.

Top 8

Slavens doubles to lead off the inning, prompting another Texas pitching change. Right-hander Andre Duplantier II allows a productive groundout, but he keeps the Hogs off the board. They are 2-11 with runners in scoring position.

Bottom 8

Frank surrenders back-to-back hits with one out to end his evening. Right-hander Brady Tygart enters with the go-ahead run at first base, and he fans the two batters he faces, stranding two runners in scoring position.

Top 9

Nothing doing for the Razorbacks in the ninth. They have three outs left to get to protect the one-run cushion.

Bottom 9

Tygart closes the door on the Longhorns with his third strikeout. Arkansas wins 3-2.
