Scoring Recap: Arkansas 15, Louisiana Tech 6

FAYETTEVILLE — The No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks secured a series sweep of Louisiana Tech with a 15-6 win over the Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.

Left-hander Hunter Hollan earned the win on the mound for the Razorbacks after throwing five innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out seven batters.

Jared Wegner and Kendall Diggs both went deep in a nine-run bottom of the third inning that helped give Hollan a large lead to work with.

Top 1

After leading the game off with a strikeout, Hollan benefited from a line out and a base running mistake by Jonathan Hogart, who was at third by the time the ball got to first to get him out.

Bottom 1

Jared Wegner drew a one-out walk, but a trio of fly outs allowed Reed Smith to get out of the inning.

Top 2

Hollan hit three batters and gave up three runs, just one of which was earned, in the top of the second. The Arkansas starter hurled 29 pitches in the frame to get to 42 total by the time he got three outs.

Bottom 2

Jace Bohrofen hit a leadoff double off the wall in right and an error on the shortstop on a grounder from Peyton Holt scored Bohrofen to put Arkansas on the board after two.

Top 3

Hollan worked his first true 1-2-3 inning of the afternoon.

Tavian Josenberger led the inning off with a double and he scored courtesy of a Jared Wegner 372-foot two-run homer that tied the game. Three batters later, Kendall Diggs blasted another two-run shot to right to give the Razorbacks a lead.

The Bulldogs turned to right-hander Landon Tomkins, who walked all five batters he faced to allow two runs to score.

Louisiana Tech brought in lefty Ryan Harland and Slavens lined a two RBI single to center on Harland's first pitch. A Bohrofen fly out to left helped Harland finally get his team out of the frame.

Hollan worked another three up, three down frame with a pair of strikeouts.

Arkansas went down in order on a pair of fly outs and line out.

Hollan gained another two strikeouts on his way to a third straight 1-2-3 inning.

Arkansas loaded the bases with one out, but couldn't scratch any runs across after a Brady Slavens foul out and a Jace Bohrofen fly out.

RHP Cody Adcock replaced Hollan on the mound for Arkansas.

Karson Evans took Adcock deep for a one-out three-run homer to trim the Arkansas lead 10-6.

Louisiana Tech brought on RHP Justin Williams, and he retired the Razorbacks in order.

Adock worked a better frame than in the sixth, facing the minimum in the top of the seventh.

Peyton Stovall's RBI fielder's choice scored Bolton. After Crabb issued his second walk, the Bulldogs turned to RHP Ethan Bates.

A passed ball scored Stovall and Bohrofen drove in a pair of runs on a single up the middle to put Arkansas ahead by eight.

Arkansas brought on RHP Gage Wood in the top of the eighth and he struck out three of his four batters faced.

A Brady Slavens groundout stranded a pair of runs and sent the game to the top of the ninth.

Freshman RHP Christian Foutch came on for Arkansas and he retired three of the four batters he faced.
