Director of Officiating Steve Shaw took the podium early Tuesday morning at SEC Media Days to discuss a few rules changes, relative to recent years.

Replay a success?

Shaw said the SEC average 2.2 stops per game for reviews, and it's imperative they get those stops right. Even with the change in how they conduct replay (now a collaborative process with officials in the box and at the command center in Birmingham), they still average 1 minute and 26 seconds per stop, which is in line with the previous two years.
