FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas will likely be without two starters on offense when it hosts No. 1 Alabama on Saturday.

Tight end Jeremy Patton has officially be ruled out after undergoing successful ankle surgery Tuesday and it sounds like running back Devwah Whaley will miss his second straight game with a concussion.

Head coach Chad Morris said the Razorbacks hope to get Patton back sometime later in the season.

The prospect of a redshirt year is unlikely because he has appeared in five games, which makes him ineligible for the NCAA’s new rule and is likely too many for a medical redshirt, but it is something Morris would need to explore after the season. Patton started the North Texas game and has five reception for 45 years this year.

Whaley is still considered day-to-day, but he was not dressed out and watched practice from the sideline again Wednesday. Morris acknowledged that it is “looking doubtful” that he plays Saturday.
