After considering a long list of national powers including Duke, Kentucky, Louisville, and North Carolina among others, Famutimi narrowed his choices and took official visits to Arkansas, Missouri, and Memphis.
Famutimi selected the Hogs over Missouri and Memphis.
"He's very happy with his choice and feels very comfortable with the people there," his father, Yemi, told the Toronto Sun yesterday. "I told him if he decides now he can then concentrate on his academics instead of dealing with everyone asking him where he's going to go."
A native of Toronto, the 6-foot-5, 205-pound Famutimi played last at Northwestern High in Flint, Mich., where he averaged 23 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, two steals and four blocks per contest as a junior.
He is one of the nation’s top prospects, rated five stars by Rivals.com and is the No. 4 Shooting Guard in the country.
