Powerful Offensive Guard Selects the Hogs

With Arkansas in dire need for interior offensive linemen, the Razorbacks received a critical verbal commitment Thursday evening when Duston Moore of Brenham (Texas) high selected the Hogs.
The 6-foot-5, 340-pound Moore is rated a three-star prospect and the nation’s No. 23 Offensive Guard by Rivals.com. Moore is listed as the No. 47 player in Texas regardless of position by Rivals.

Moore selected the Hogs over Kansas. He also received scholarship offers from Texas Tech and Baylor, and was recruited by Texas A&M.
“I just felt that Arkansas was the place for me,” Moore said. “I wanted to go somewhere that was away from home - but not too far away – and Arkansas was perfect for that. I also like their coaching staff a lot. Those guys, especially (Chris) Vaughn, have been straight up with me, and seem like really good people.”
“Dustin is a manchild,” Brenham assistant Jerry Newman said. “College coaches will walk into our field house and say ‘he must weight 290 pounds.’ And we tell them, ‘no he weighs about 340.’ They can’t believe it because he’s so lean. His legs are just massive.”
And Moore puts them to good use. He has helped lead Brenham to an 8-1 record, and in those nine games, has nearly 75 “pancake” blocks.
A three-sport athlete, Moore also competes in the shot put for the track team and as a back up center on the basketball team.
