Razorback Career

Although he’s caught just eight passes during his three-years at Arkansas, De’Vion Warren has flashed his playmaking ability in other areas of the game.

As a true freshman, the speedster was the Razorbacks’ primary kick returner and averaged 26.4 yards on 29 returns, including a 100-yard touchdown against Auburn. That actually led the SEC and ranked 13th nationally, earning him a spot on the Freshman All-SEC team.

Warren followed that up by averaging 28.5 yards on 14 returns as a sophomore. His two single-season averages rank third and fourth in UA history behind only Felix Jones’ two best seasons.

Although he took a step back last season by averaging just 20.4 yards on 16 returns, Warren’s career 25.3-yard average is still third all-time at Arkansas. Only Jones (28.2) and Dickey Morton (26.1) averaged more.

Offensively, he’s seen his playing time increase from just 19 snaps as a freshman to 98 and 104 snaps the last two years. Warren made a five-yard reception in 2017, but most of his production has come with more playing time, as he’s caught seven passes for 33 yards over the last two seasons combined, including a 17-yard touchdown against Alabama in 2018.

The Razorbacks seemed to find a nice niche for him early on last season, as he gained 49 yards on four carries in the first two games, but he had just one carry the rest of the way. One contributing factor may have been that his season was interrupted by a concussion.
