Razorbacks enter mix for former Minnesota DT commit Albert Regis

The Arkansas Razorbacks defensive line coach Derrick LeBlanc added a new 2021 defensive tackle to the target board this week, extending an offer to La Porte defensive tackle Albert Regis. Regis, listed as a tight end due to his all-district performance at the position in 2018, is being recruited on the defensive side of the ball by the Hogs, as well as 15 other DI programs including Ole Miss, A&M and Minnesota.

"It was honestly a surprise, I hadn't really remembered speaking with Arkansas before," Regis said. "I was excited, extremely excited. Arkansas is not far, plus it's a great school too. I didn't know how to react. I tried to keep my composure on the phone but I was jumping around like a little excited kid."

The 3-star initially shut his recruitment down in April, committing to the Gophers, but decided at the end of May that he wanted more time to explore his many options. He's now one of 15 defensive tackles Arkansas has offered, four of whom have committed elsewhere.
