OBSERVATIONS: Offense on Saturday
REACTION: Takeaways from the Red-White Game
RUNDOWN: Defense stands out over offense
RECAP: White tops Red in the Rock, 27-25
THE GOOD
Arkansas' defense gave up a few big plays, but the Red team made its share, too. Defensive ends Randy Ramsey and Jamario Bell both had two sacks and two tackles for loss apiece, cornerback Ryan Pulley had three of the defense's nine pass break-ups on the day, and Michael Taylor almost came away with a touchdown on a fumble return to close out the first half.
Offensively, Devwah Whaley started to look like his old self before finishing with a team-high 62 yards on 8 carries. Wide receiver La'Michael Pettway had his best day as a Razorback, grabbing 6 passes for 91 yards -- all in the first half.
THE BAD
The special teams weren't so great on Saturday.
Connor Limpert started the game with a kick out of bounds and missed a 32-yard field goal in the first quarter. The punters averaged just 32.2 yards per punt on the day, which included a 14-yard shank by Chad Stephens.
THE UGLY
The weather was awful. It snowed, then it sleeted, then it rained. The temperature at kickoff (35º) was two degrees lower than Little Rock's high on Christmas Day in December.
