Stoerner, a former three-year starter and All-SEC performer for the Razorbacks, played from 1996-1999. He holds most of the school's passing records, and he played the majority of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys, even earning a few starts. Now he plays with the Nashville Kats of the Arena League. He makes his home in Nashville, but the last few years Stoerner has moved around quite often.
"I have been working camps ever since high school with the intentions of one day running my own," Stoerner said. "I love working with kids and making a difference. There is a lot more than just football taught and hopefully learned at these camps. Football has had a much bigger impact on me off the field than it ever has on - maturing and learning life lessons through sports."
The first camps will be held at Fayetteville High School. For 5th-8th graders, it is July 10-11, 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. The camp runs July 12-13 at those same times for 9th-12th graders. The Bryant Camp runs July 17-18 for 5th-8th grade and 19-20 for 9th-12th grade. Both camps start at the same time of day, 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Stoerner has a lot of information to pass on to younger players, as he has been coached by some of the best at earch level. His high school coach at Baytown (Texas) Lee has put five quarterbacks in Division I schools. He learned from 18-year NFL veteran Joe Ferguson at Arkansas and 19-year NFL veteran Wade Wilson in Dallas.
"I figured it would be an injustice not to offer all the great coaching that I have recieved to the youth of Arkansas," he said. "I am very qualified and very confident in what I am doing and I have surrounded myself with a staff that is very comparable to me. "
Stoerner makes it back to Fayetteville on occassion, and while he has had the opportunity to live in several big cities with big-time sports franchises, he still misses being a Razorback at times.
"I missed the college atmosphere the most," he said. "there is nothing better than college football season in Fayetteville, Arkansas. I love the Hogs, and I am native Texan."
