Swindall sets visit to UA

When a high school team intercepts 17 passes in one season most coaches consider it a success, but when one player does it then it becomes a national record.
Oklahoma City Millwood athlete Brandon Swindall, 6-4, 180, 4.56, picked off 17 passes this season and returned eight of them for touchdowns.
"I played cornerback," Swindall said. "I did have 1,300 yards receiving and like 24 touchdowns."
Swindall has scholarship offers from Tulsa and New Mexico right now and will take an official visit to Arkansas this weekend and then Houston the following weekend.
"Garrick McGee is recruiting me," Swindall said. "He is a really nice person, so easy to talk to. He is like talking to a really good friend, not a coach. You can relate to him and feel comfortable talking to him like a friend and not a coach."
Swindall said his senior season was one he won't soon forget.
"For me, it was the best season ever," Swindall said. "I feel I played well on both offense and defense at both cornerback and wide receiver."
As the Feb. 2 National Signing Day approaches, Swindall is trying to come closer to a decision and knows what he is looking for in a school.
"I'm looking for a nice offense," Swindall, who wants to play wide receiver, said. "I like the spread offense, but whatever works. The academics and atmosphere are also important. I hope Arkansas offers me because it is pretty close to home."
Swindall feels he has the talent to help a school and will showcase his talent for Arkansas or one of the schools that has offered or does offer in coming days.
"My ball skills are my strength," Swindall said. "That is what the coaches tell me that I have great ball skills."
Arkansas set the official visit up with Swindall on Wednesday and he admitted it caught it by surprise in some ways.
"Some," Swindall said. "But only because they had been in touch on and off. I heard from them a few weeks ago and then it went a couple of weeks without hearing anything. Then they call my coach and invite me to visit. I talked to my mom and she said 'yes' and so I am visiting. I hope they offer because it is the right distance from home. It's close to home, but yet far enough away I can go away to college. It Arkansas offers, it would be very tempting to commit. I do have the trip to Houston the next weekend and then I plan to make a decision after that."
In addition to the distance, Swindall also has other things he likes about Arkansas in addition to McGee.
"The offense they run is a great one," Swindall said. "I have watched them this season and I love that offense. That is a great offense."
