FAYETTEVILLE — It took an extra five minutes to accomplish, but the Arkansas Razorbacks (17-11, 6-9 SEC) took down the Texas Longhorns (16-12, 5-10 SEC), 86-81, in overtime at Bud Walton Arena on Wednesday night.

The Razorbacks led by as many as 14 points in the second half, but Texas freshman guard Tre Johnson put the Longhorns on his back by scoring 39 points — 29 of which came in the final 20 minutes — to force overtime.

In the final period, Arkansas scored on every offensive possession and went 9-of-11 from the charity stripe to take the win.

Down leading scorer Adou Thiero, who hyperextended his knee against Missouri, the rest of the Hoop Hogs stepped up. Five of the seven Razorbacks who saw the floor scored in double figures and the team shot 46.6% from the field and 52.9% from three.

ESPN Bracketologist Joe Lunardi placed Arkansas and Texas in the "Last Four In" category headed into tonight's matchup, so the win likely boosts the Hogs' chances of getting to the Big Dance that much more.

Here are some of HawgBeat's takeaways from Wednesday's win...
