Texas Tight End Brandon Frazier Has Hogs in Top 3 After Official Visit

The Arkansas Razorbacks made a big push to the top of the list for Texas 3-star tight end Brandon Frazier on his official visit this weekend. Frazier was one of five visitors but he came in a day early and departed Saturday morning.

"The visit was good, I got to spend a lot of time with the coaches," Frazier said. "I got hosted by Jack (Lindsey), Bumper (Pool) and Grant (Morgan), and they're all really good guys.

"Arkansas is definitely in my top three. It's probably Arkansas, Baylor and (Texas) Tech. I had a great visit this weekend, but I'm still going to visit those other two schools before I make a decision. We'll go from there."

Frazier will visit Baylor in two weeks and Texas Tech later this summer before making a decision. Like many recruits, Frazier has some apprehension joining a team that went 2-10, but Morris did his best to calm those worries.

"The only thing that separates Baylor from Arkansas is them just winning right now," Frazier said. "Coach (Matt) Rhule and coach (Jeff) Nixon over there I really like those guys. Really good guys and they win. That's one thing I told coach Morris about here and he said, 'You've just got to trust the process because they flip all the schools they go to like SMU and Clemson.' They turned it around and they will turn this one around. It's just trusting they will do that."

Arkansas has been recruiting Frazier for almost a year now, the 3-star camped on the Hill last summer and after an impressive performance, earned his first Division-I offer from the Hogs. He went on to earn 17 more offers and cut the list down to eight.

The Texas native was able to see the culture shift on campus close up and saw the team coming together as one with a common goal for next season.

"The highlight was just the connectedness of all the players and coaches and the vibe they brought in," Frazier said. "It's really good, really cool to see. They're definitely flipping the program back to winning games and stuff. That's going to be fun to watch."

A big factor in Frazier's recruitment is finding a school he feels he can get on the field early. The Razorbacks will graduate several tight ends this year, which is why they're trying to add a second tight end in this 2020 class to join Crockett High School tight end commit Allen Horace Jr.

"We sat down with Coach (Barry) Lunney and Coach (Chad) Morris yesterday at breakfast just looked at the depth chart," Frazier said. "He said I control my own destiny of playing early. Just getting ready physically and putting on that weight when I get in. Be ready to play."

As far as coming into a two-tight end class, Frazier has no qualms about that.

"I know Allen. I have talked to him and seen him around some other campuses. He's a really good athlete. I could definitely see us playing together in 12 Personnel."

As a junior at McKinney North, Frazier had 37 receptions for 513 yards and five touchdowns.

Stay tuned for a late summer/early fall decision from the tight end.
